Madison Svendgard is a visual artist currently based in Northwest Arkansas. She received a BFA from the University of Nebraska Lincoln, and an MFA in drawing from the University of Arkansas. Her work explores the relationship between labor, boredom, exhaustion, and escapism. Her work has been shown in a number of shows nationally and internationally.

ABOUT THE ART
“During the pandemic, I saw that the Hollywood Video I used to go to as a kid (a place I loved going to and my childhood dream job) had become a Covid testing site. I found this hilariously dystopian, so I decided to make this piece called Goodnight Hollywood Video in memoriam to a place I loved. I recreated miniature VHS tapes that would have been on the shelves during my movie rental days.”
