INTERVIEW

There’s No Place Like Home with Chloe Jones

A Northwest Arkansas native, Chloe Jones’s photography has always been closely informed by home. Her work’s subject matter, which includes stylized scenes and portraits, are typically set against the backdrop of the Ozarks. These images feel strikingly real, familiar and familial, as if she took a page from your family’s photo album.

The Artists

MIXD’s stable of artists are in the realm of the vast emerging talent in the Ozark Region.

Picture Books is a photography and photobook exhibition featuring artists and publishers from the Ozarks and beyond. Framed through the lens of narrative as material, the exhibition explores how stories emerge not only from photographs on the wall, but through sequencing, design, and the act of page-turning. These works trace themes of identity, inheritance, and place—inviting viewers into intimate worlds shaped by the image-maker. Rather than presenting fixed narratives, the exhibition embraces storytelling as a tactile, participatory process. Part exhibition, part reading room, and part gathering space, Picture Books invites visitors into an active relationship with photography, with books, and with one another.
