Emily Joyce

Emily Joyce is a self-taught fiber artist native to Northwest Arkansas, creating large-scale, kinetic wall hanging installations that explore the relationship between texture, movement, and the spaces we inhabit. Inspired by the colorways and organic flow found throughout the natural world, Joyce works with fiber, wire, and wood to create energetically evolving compositions that blur the line between ancient textile traditions and contemporary art. Through self-developed construction techniques, her work remains free to respond to air, touch, and movement, allowing each installation to shift subtly within its environment rather than exist as a static object.

Central to Joyce’s practice is the belief that an artwork and its environment are intrinsically connected. Each installation is created with an intentionality toward the space it will inhabit, yet only once installed does the work fully come alive; transformed by architecture, changing light, moving air, and human interaction. The result is an immersive and distinctly sensory form of fiber art designed not simply to occupy a wall, but to transform the atmosphere around it. Joyce’s work is held in private collections across more than 13 countries, and her distinctive approach to contemporary fiber art has cultivated a global audience of more than one million.
