Opening Night: Picture Books
FreePicture Books is a photography and photobook exhibition featuring artists and publishers from the Ozarks and beyond. Framed through the lens of narrative as material, the exhibition explores how stories emerge not only from photographs on the wall, but through sequencing, design, and the act of page-turning.
These works trace themes of identity, inheritance, and place—inviting viewers into intimate worlds shaped by the image-maker. Rather than presenting fixed narratives, the exhibition embraces storytelling as a tactile, participatory process.
Part exhibition, part reading room, and part gathering space, Picture Books invites visitors into an active relationship with photography, with books, and with one another.
In addition to the opening, MIXD artist Henry O. Head will be debuting his own new book, Twelve Acres, with an artist talk and signing to follow.
