Meet the Artist

Bryce Arroyos

My artwork is a look on the deeper themes of duality and balance. The two cowboys represent opposing forces, each embodying a different aspect of the human psyche: the righteous lawman versus the lawless outlaw, the calm versus the passionate, the order versus chaos, good versus evil, love versus hate, life versus death.
By pitting these forces against each other in a duel without any guns, I am exploring the idea that duality is an inherent aspect of human nature. We all contain within us conflicting impulses and desires, and it is through the struggle to balance these opposing forces that we find our true selves.
My artwork invites the viewer to consider their own inner duality and to reflect on the role of balance and harmony in their lives. Whether we are facing down an external opponent or grappling with our own internal conflicts, it is only by embracing both sides of the duality that we can achieve a sense of wholeness and peace.
The cowboy image symbolizes desire for freedom, adventure, and self-reliance. The cowboy’s ability to navigate and survive in a challenging and unpredictable environment can be seen as a metaphor for overcoming obstacles and achieving personal growth.
In this sense, we are all cowboys in our own right. Each of us possesses an innate spirit of determination and a longing to chart our own paths, embracing challenges with unwavering courage. We strive to break free from the confines of conformity, seeking to forge our destinies and carve out a meaningful existence.
Like cowboys, we embark on journeys that push us beyond our comfort zones, embracing the unknown with open hearts and minds. We learn to navigate the twists and turns of life, building resilience and resourcefulness along the way. Through our trials and triumphs, we discover the depth of our own capabilities and the boundless potential within us.
