Marc Mitchell

I am influenced by many things—vintage punk rock, VHS tapes, Internet blogs, World War I battleships, beat-up amps, moiré patterns, and custom guitars. In recent years ‘notions of cycle’ have played an increased role in the development of my paintings; and ways in which avant-garde movements succeed and fail within popular culture.

Biography

Marc is a painter located in Fayetteville, where he also teaches at the University of Arkansas. He received an MFA in painting from Boston University and his work has been exhibited in a number of solo and group shows throughout the country. His work has been featured in numerous publications and was selected for for New American Paintings several times.
